An Unusual Suspect

Tomorrow night we will be talking about something unusual... literally.

Sing It Sydney

Family Fotos (November 2006)

Gaylord Texan

After Thanksgiving, we headed up to Dallas, TX and stayed at a swanky hotel/resort called the Gaylord Texan (yea, yea it sounds funny.) It was this huge, nice place with a replica of the alamo inside, about ten different restaurants, a river running through it, an indoor and outdoor pool and so much more.

5 Dailies (a little bit of nothing) 11.23.06

  • Watch this if you are not squimish... An anaconda sinks his/her teeth into a man's arm. And after that guy gets free, it gets somebody elses fingers. Pretty interesting.
  • I don't think this artsy toliet seat cover will help anyone trying to Potty Train their child. It probably doesn't go good with any type decoration theme you got going on.
  • So tomorrow you could run out to the store to get your kid brother and TMX Elmo... the TMX (stands for Tickle Me) suppose to be an updated, super dooper Elmo. You can't buy it online at any stores. They retail for $40 but I am sure ebay has them for much, much more. Read about it.
  • Know anyone who is double jointed? Looks painful but anytime someone exhibits their "special powers", they always have a smile on thier face.
  • You know you wouldn't want this to be your house on a beautiful Satruday morning, right? Remeber Pastor Ryan Ogden? (Former youth pastor in Jesup, GA at Unity COG) He now pastors in Valdosta, GA at New Point Church and this is his garage. This is not his mini-van. That's what happens when you mistake the gas pedal for the brakes.

Cool Church

We passed by my sister's new church site in Killeen, TX. The church is called Destiny. It looks awesome. My brother-in-law described the Children Church drop off system. Parents walk up to a second level registration area and then place their kids in tube slides and they slide down to their classes. When they pick 'em up, teachers place them in the tube slides and parents can meet them at the bottom. The slides will be big enough that the parents can also slide down. Now that's cool.

The Goats

5 Dailies (a little bit of nothing) 11.22.06

  • Who are you inviting to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow? How about a grizzly bear to take care of all the left overs?
  • You won't be disappointed if you click. This couple competed in "America's Got Talent" as the Quick Change Artist. Awesome. Especially the last change.
  • Check out these pet owners that look like their dogs after the jump.
  • This pic reminds us that during Thanksgiving we should put all our differences aside. Or it says lets dress up like indians and pilgrims.
  • Click and watch this funny 30 second commercial. Oh, Momma!

5 Dailies (a little bit of nothing) 11.21.06

  1. Watch this amazing skateboarding and the ensuing fall.
  2. So what do you get your kid sister for Christmas? How about a Barbie doll with Tanner, the pooping dog. You feed it biscuits and then... Well enloarge the pic.
  3. So tell your parents that you must have an iPod Video because it just may save your life. Read the story about a kid who got lost in the woods and the glow from his iPod helped police find him. Jump to the story.
  4. Just a silly pic that brings to mind the saying... I'm All Ears!
  5. Did you stand in line for the PS3? I saw at least 10 tents outside Best Buy in Savannah and a Hacky Sac community formed outside Target. $599? Not including games? You got one? Would you wait 24 plus?

In The Big O' State Of Texas

We left Hinesville, GA on Sunday, November 19th around 6PM and drove all night long (Lionel Richie in the background singing: all night, all night loooong, all night...). We arrived in Killeen, TX around 2 PM.

Posted are pics of Cora with her Papa K and Nana. My dad got the idea of raising goats about 6 months ago becuase he found out that he can get tax exemption. (If he sells the goat milk he can check off he is a farmer.) So it's just two goats, Dorthy and Daisy. Of coarse, Cora is scared of them but she was obedient and took the picture next to the two dames.

I hope your Thanksgiving week is going good. Don't forget to put into practice what you already know. I realize with school out for the holidays, there's a lot of free time and that can be dangerous. Use your time wisely. If you feel like you gonna get into trouble, call someone you trust.

Feliz Dia De Accion De Gracias... that's long for Happy Thansgiving.

Hopefully I will update this week.

Some Crew Members went with us to Summit '06 in Brunswick, GA (a youth pastors and leaders conference). We had fun. But you guys should know, when teens aren't around, there is still flipping and jumping off beds going on. Just so you know.

What we looked like on Oct 31st...

Everyday Heroes [1]

When we think of heroes, our mind may automatically envision a caped crusader like Batman or Superman, or the ones without capes like Spiderman and Wonder Woman. If we think about it a little longer, our mind may take us to Firefighters, Police Officers, and Military soldiers. But do we ever think that we can become heroes? Do we allow ourselves the possibility that God can take our ordinary lives and make them extraordinary? He strategically places individuals and places us in situations that if we do the right thing at the right time, elevates us to hero status. Everyday, God wants to use us to help others. Are we going to shrug off the initial fear of doing something out of the ordinary and become someone extraordinary? In the parable of the talents, a manger gave three employees money. Two employees invested their money and doubled it. One employee did nothing with it. When the manager came back he praised the two that did something with the little bit they had, and scolded the third one for not doing anything. Remember: Use what you got and God will give you more.

When it comes to being a everday hero, you have to start somewhere. Start by using what skill, talent, gift you have to help others out. God will give you more.
