What you think?

So anyone watching American Idol? It's down to 10 contestants. One more will be voted off tonight. And this morning I open up my email tilted "Sanjaya's Twin" and up pops Esqueleto, Nacho Libre's sidekick. Personally, I am rooting for Melinda Dolittle. My sister is going for Blake. And some Church Of God people and Lee University Alumni are going for Phil Stacey (Lee U graduate and Church Of God boy.) If you are watching, who you going for?

Wednesday, April 4th at The Spot

Do you remember the Scripture that says, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared...

Cry Out To God

Isaiah 38.1-3 [MSG]: 1 At that time, Hezekiah got sick. He was about to die. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz visited him and said, "God says, 'Prepare your affairs and your family. This is it: You're going to die. You're not going to get well.'"

2-3Hezekiah turned away from Isaiah and, facing the wall, prayed to God: "God, please, I beg you: Remember how I've lived my life. I've lived faithfully in your presence, lived out of a heart that was totally yours. You've seen how I've lived, the good that I have done." And Hezekiah wept as he prayed—painful tears.

What I find encouraging in this pasage of scripture is that A PREACHER, A PROPHET, A MAN OF GOD went to the king and told him he was goign to die. And the king chose to turn away from that report, face THE WALL and cry out to GOD! No matter who tells you what, God has the final say so. Those painful tears, that bitter weeping moved God and God told Isaiah "Tell Hezekiah he will live."

Your tears are powerful. God is not immune to your tears. He is not blind to your hurt. He does not consider your emotions irrelevant. On the contrary, it says in Psalms 56.8 and that He keeps our tears in bottles. He has a room full of jars, vases and bottels--a collection of our tears. He knows when we dorpped them and why.

Go ahead, cry out to God! Turn to Him when the world gives you a bad report. when the situation gets to much for you. When you are filled with dispair, anger, bitterness, hurt, pain... CRY OUT TO GOD... He willlisten and move on your behalf.

More over, He will do the impossible for you. For Hezekiah, God moved the shadow of the sun dial (the time keeper) back 10 degrees or steps. The Impossible! Hezekiahs prayer and painful cry resulted in the impossible being done. Come on now, that is pwerful.

She Shoots... And she... Well, the crowd goes wild

My little Cora had begged us for about a year now to play some basketball... She's done soccer and gymnastics. She wants to do football and dance and just recently, cheerleading. So here is a clip of our baby girl "dribbling" the ball and going for a shot. She plays for the YMCA with Coach Andy and I think her favorite part of the game is getting in a huddle, and saying "Go Hawks!" She has about three more games to play... Go CORA!

Song: For Who You Are

Verse:
Standing here in Your presence
Thinking of the good things You have done
Waiting here patiently
Just to hear Your still small voice again

PreChorus:
Holy, righteous, faithful to the end,
Saviour, healer, redeemer, and friend

Chorus:
I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
Jesus (repeat)

Bridge:
My soul secure, Your promise sure
Your love endures always (2x)

Testing It Before...

As Cora moved from formula to cereal to baby foods, I would always test it before I would give it to her. This takes that to a whole---natha----level... This guy is testing a shock collar for dogs...

Okay, Okay... Need Feed Back

So have put up about four different ROUGH ideas for the NEW T-shirt... This is the feedback I need: What do you like from the four examples (ex: i like it messy, or i like it simple, i like it crazy, etc.)... Do you like the saturn logo to be on it? Of coarse LOYC and/or live oak youth church will be on the t-shirt... Becuase of the company we are going to order t-shirts from, the idea must be on the ADOBE program... AND Becuase I'm trying to keep cost down (below $9 per t-shirt) I am trying to stay with one or two colors on the design. So please, leave comments...

How about this: If you leave a comment, you will elegible for a RANDOM drawing to recieve a free T-shirt... does that help?

One More...

How About This For A T-Shirt Idea

You really didn't like the robot idea... hmmm... I wonder why? Anyways, here's another rough idea.

Bone/Deep [b]

In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve disobey and then hide from God. God walks around and asks, "Where are you?" Don't you think an all-knowing, all-powerful God who is omni-present (He is everywhere) would know where the first man and woman are hiding? Why did He ask "Where are you?"

Conceal:
1.to hide; withdraw or remove from observation; cover or keep from sight: He concealed the gun under his coat.
2.to keep secret; to prevent or avoid disclosing or divulging: to conceal one's identity by using a false name.

Reveal:
1.to make known; disclose; divulge: to reveal a secret.
2.to lay open to view; display; exhibit.

Pretty Much Powerful...

Bone/Deep [a]

In Psalms 139, David writes "You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body" [MSG]. There is a paradox here: God knows us, but we must reveal ourselves to Him to have a meaningful relationship with Him.

We think we can keep things, emotions, issues away from God. And although He knows EVERYTHING about you, when you become real and vulnearable before Him and reveal these things to Him, that's when God rushes in says, "Now we can start having a bone/deep realtionship."

Today, choose one thing that you have not been completely honest with God and through praying (talking with God) reveal your opinions on the situation, your emotions and what you would liek to happen.

Prehistoric Shark In Japan... Nerdy Cool

It is just a bit mesmerizing to see this creature swimming around. She was found in Japan a couple days ago and died hours after being moved to an observation pool. Watch it and then read about it after the jump.

So I heard this on TV...

The other night, my wife and I were playing... wait for it, wait for it... Boogle! She was winning of course and the TV was on in the background. The new Kleenex commercial came on. You know, the one with the blue couch in Central Park and this lady was sitting, talking to a counselor or something about the Hurricane in New Orleans and how she lost five of her friends. And then she said this: "My tears do not compromise my strength." Wowza! I mean 8 words, right? No, 7 words. 7 powerful words.

As a man, we don't like crying. Society has taught us that tears signify weakness. They are effiminate qualities. And I don't cry. When I am stressed or something is going on, I usually work out, pig out or shut down. However, I freely cry in front of my heavenly Father. Wether it be in praise, joy, saddness, dispair, whatever... I know I can cry out to Him. It is cleansening and refreshing and renewing.

Your tears do not compromise your strength. In fact, they indicate boldness and courage.

I just had to share that.

How About You Watch This, Huh?

Tonight

We use them all the time... He, She, It, We, Us, They, Them, I, Me, You... and tonight we will start talking abou them in a different light.

What Is This All About?

Tonight...

1 Corinthians 6.19 [MSG]: Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.

5 Dailies ( a lil bit o' nuffing)

  1. If he were real and he was headed down here, he would probably wouldn't need the red coat, boots, and hat... it's too hot for all that in South Georgia.

  2. So you've probably heard of all the uses for duct tape. I recently found out that it can also be used to take car of warts. Honest! But using them to keep track of Baby is not wise.

  3. News Read about a guy in Warner Robins, GA who was sentenced to wearing "I Am A Liar" label buy the court for lying to the police. Public humilation for wrong doing... hmmm now that's an idea.

  4. Don't forget what we are celebrating... The birth of Jesus Christ.

  5. Click here to see a weight lifter drop the weights on his throat. In about 49 seconds you will see something rather painful.

Ridin' In Style

We decided to have our Christmas early... Like we had it today. My wife made breakfast and Cora opened her presents. Which one did she forsake all others for? The one where she can ride around... Funny thing tho, she wouldn't get in it until she had her shoes and her purse.

Have A Merry Christmas from LOYC

...from Santa and Ms. Claus

These two came out on Saturday, December 16th to help give out gifts to children in the community. They also wished you a Merry Christmas. However, I think once I told 'em it was LOYC youth... they decided to have a little fun. Check out both versions.
