at summerfest...
Eddie James is leading Praise and Worship. I heard them a month ago at Sonfest. They were awesome. They have a cool multi-racial band and back-up singers including a converted Muslim who plays the bass or guitar. Check out his songs here.
John Gray is an interesting man. I had the privealge of driving him around during Sonfest. He is currently the singles pastor at Jentzen Franklin's church Free Worship Chapel. His passion is singing and ministering. He has toured with Kirk Franklin and DC Talk. Check out his songs here.

check 1, check 1
this one is by Group 1 Crew, an awesome new group. Bought there CD last week cuz it was only 7.99 as an introductory price. Worth it. Kinda a Black Eyed Peas type of vibe and look to them.
Toby Mac, formerly of DC Talk, has a new CD out called Portable Sounds. "No Ordinary Love" was taken from the album and put to some Japenese Anime. Cool vid.
KJ 52 has a new album out called The Yearbook. This song is an old KJ 52 song, but it's acted ot by a couple of novice video film makers. Laugh. I think it was made to be funny.

What you think?

So anyone watching American Idol? It's down to 10 contestants. One more will be voted off tonight. And this morning I open up my email tilted "Sanjaya's Twin" and up pops Esqueleto, Nacho Libre's sidekick. Personally, I am rooting for Melinda Dolittle. My sister is going for Blake. And some Church Of God people and Lee University Alumni are going for Phil Stacey (Lee U graduate and Church Of God boy.) If you are watching, who you going for?

This Wednesday

Come celebrate my 30th birthday this Wednesday. I'll give away some stuff I like, they'll be a surprise for everyone and afterwards I head off to Miami. My wife has surprised me with a 4-day Cruise from Miami to Key West to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. No need to bring anything just yourself and a friend.

Cry Out To God
Isaiah 38.1-3 [MSG]: 1 At that time, Hezekiah got sick. He was about to die. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz visited him and said, "God says, 'Prepare your affairs and your family. This is it: You're going to die. You're not going to get well.'" 2-3Hezekiah turned away from Isaiah and, facing the wall, prayed to God: "God, please, I beg you: Remember how I've lived my life. I've lived faithfully in your presence, lived out of a heart that was totally yours. You've seen how I've lived, the good that I have done." And Hezekiah wept as he prayed—painful tears.
What I find encouraging in this pasage of scripture is that A PREACHER, A PROPHET, A MAN OF GOD went to the king and told him he was goign to die. And the king chose to turn away from that report, face THE WALL and cry out to GOD! No matter who tells you what, God has the final say so. Those painful tears, that bitter weeping moved God and God told Isaiah "Tell Hezekiah he will live."
Your tears are powerful. God is not immune to your tears. He is not blind to your hurt. He does not consider your emotions irrelevant. On the contrary, it says in Psalms 56.8 and that He keeps our tears in bottles. He has a room full of jars, vases and bottels--a collection of our tears. He knows when we dorpped them and why.
Go ahead, cry out to God! Turn to Him when the world gives you a bad report. when the situation gets to much for you. When you are filled with dispair, anger, bitterness, hurt, pain... CRY OUT TO GOD... He willlisten and move on your behalf.
More over, He will do the impossible for you. For Hezekiah, God moved the shadow of the sun dial (the time keeper) back 10 degrees or steps. The Impossible! Hezekiahs prayer and painful cry resulted in the impossible being done. Come on now, that is pwerful.

Song: For Who You Are
Verse:
Standing here in Your presence
Thinking of the good things You have done
Waiting here patiently
Just to hear Your still small voice again
PreChorus:
Holy, righteous, faithful to the end,
Saviour, healer, redeemer, and friend
Chorus:
I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
Jesus (repeat)
Bridge:
My soul secure, Your promise sure
Your love endures always (2x)

Okay, Okay... Need Feed Back
So have put up about four different ROUGH ideas for the NEW T-shirt... This is the feedback I need: What do you like from the four examples (ex: i like it messy, or i like it simple, i like it crazy, etc.)... Do you like the saturn logo to be on it? Of coarse LOYC and/or live oak youth church will be on the t-shirt... Becuase of the company we are going to order t-shirts from, the idea must be on the ADOBE program... AND Becuase I'm trying to keep cost down (below $9 per t-shirt) I am trying to stay with one or two colors on the design. So please, leave comments...How about this: If you leave a comment, you will elegible for a RANDOM drawing to recieve a free T-shirt... does that help?

Bone/Deep [a]

In Psalms 139, David writes "You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body" [MSG]. There is a paradox here: God knows us, but we must reveal ourselves to Him to have a meaningful relationship with Him.
We think we can keep things, emotions, issues away from God. And although He knows EVERYTHING about you, when you become real and vulnearable before Him and reveal these things to Him, that's when God rushes in says, "Now we can start having a bone/deep realtionship."
Today, choose one thing that you have not been completely honest with God and through praying (talking with God) reveal your opinions on the situation, your emotions and what you would liek to happen.

So I heard this on TV...
As a man, we don't like crying. Society has taught us that tears signify weakness. They are effiminate qualities. And I don't cry. When I am stressed or something is going on, I usually work out, pig out or shut down. However, I freely cry in front of my heavenly Father. Wether it be in praise, joy, saddness, dispair, whatever... I know I can cry out to Him. It is cleansening and refreshing and renewing.
Your tears do not compromise your strength. In fact, they indicate boldness and courage.
I just had to share that.
