Easter Foto

For the past three Easter Sundays, we [the Atwood Family] have gone to the beach after church. This year as we headed down the winding two lane road to Jekyll Island, Michal said to stop and take a picture of Cora with the flowers. We stopped the car, got our photo-happy daughter out and told her to smile. Those pictures came out good. But in this one I told her, just smell the flowers.
There are plenty of times in our life when we need to go fast. When people need to see you, hear from you, talk to you. When you need to do something for someone. Get something. It gets hetic. And if we are not careful, hetic-ness becomes the language and currency or our lives. And those that suffer? Our family.
Stop the fast moving car! Step outside with the kids. Listen to your spouse. Take a picture. Enjoy life! I mean, isn't that why Jesus came to earth in the first place? So that we may have life and have it more abundantly? The Message version says: "[Jesus] came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." (John 10.10)
...Oh, and you know I couldn't leave out the most obvious cliche... SMELL THE FLOWERS!

If I have not learned anything else in the past few years I have learned how to "live". Time spent with family is so important, especially time spent with children. When they grow up and move out that relationship taht was established when they were young continues to grow. The memories are countless.

I enjoy browsing through and reading the blogs. They are a blessing.
